Google has unveiled a series of product launches at its #MadeByGoogle event, kicking off the event by poking fun at the industry with an exclusive skit featuring the cast of HBO's Silicon Valley.Sundar Pichai, Google chief executive came to the stage to kick off the event which had over quarter of a million viewers worldwide tuned in over YouTube Live.AI and the Google Assistant became the immediate focus to help "people get things done in the real world", with the company wanting to "build a personal Google for each user".

Just after coming of age (it just turned 18), Google on Tuesday announced a slew of new devices including Pixel smartphones, Google Home -- products that come with the company's artificial intelligence -- Google Assistant."Google is now moving forward from a mobile-first platform to an artificial intelligence-first platform.And the culmination of all the efforts is the Google Assistant," Google CEO Sundar Pichai said, before he kicked off the keynote speech at Ghirardelli Square Fisherman's Wharf area of San Francisco, California.

Google is embarking on a wholesale revamp of its mobile phone strategy, debuting a pair of slick and powerful handsets that for the first time will go head-to-head with Apple Inc.'s iconic iPhone.Alphabet Inc.'s Google on Tuesday unveiled the Pixel and larger Pixel XL , the first phones that were conceptualized, designed, engineered and tested in-house.The Pixel handsets feature a Siri-like virtual assistant, flashy camera features and are the first to boast Android's new Nougat 7.1 operating system.Their debut signals Google's push into the $400 billion smartphone hardware business and shows that the company is willing to risk alienating partners like Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. that sell Android-based phones."Google is now the seller of record of this phone," said Rick Osterloh, chief of the company's new hardware division.
