European Galaxy Note 7 sales expected to restart in November
The Galaxy Note 7 recall is now well under way, with fresh safe stock beginning to make its way out to many pre-order consumers.However, it looks like Europe has one again drawn the short straw when it comes Samsung's Note range, as the company states that sales won't recommence in the region until sometime in late November.This news means that Europe isn't due to start receiving fresh stock for store shelves until much later than the rest of the world.
DGCA may curb use of entire range of Samsung Galaxy Note smartphones on flights
NEW DELHI: India's aviation regulator is likely to put curbs on the use of the entire range of Samsung Galaxy Note smartphones on flights, a senior official said, after IndiGo reported an incident of "sparks and smoke" emitting from a Note 2 kept in the hand baggage of a passenger.Friday's incident on a Singapore-Chennai flight operated by the no-frills airline is bad news for Samsung , which is hit by the worldwide recall of its newest model, Galaxy Note 7 , following reports of the phone catching fire.Global aviation regulators, including India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) as well as those in Canada and Australia, earlier this month announced restrictions on the use of the Note 7 in flights after the US Federal Aviation Administration warned about potential fire hazard."The (regulator's fresh) advisory may be similar to the Samsung Note 7 advisory, where carrying of the phones in a 'switch on' mode will not be allowed," said a senior DGCA official.

Cabin crew had to use a fire extinguisher on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, which had smoke and sparks coming out of it, according to a statement by InterGlobe Aviation, owners of the airline.There was no damage and the aircraft landed safely in Chennai after the incident - described as a suspected fire by India's aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).The airline insisted there had been no fire.
