Samsung begins Android Pie rollout for Galaxy S9 in Europe

Just in time for the holidays, Samsung has begun releasing its Android Pie update for the Galaxy S9. Along by the upgrades made by Google, Android Pie on the S9 alextremely brings Samsung's One UI, a new consumer experience that is intended to make apps easier to use on larger phones, amongst other improvements. Google has previously attempted to speed up the adoption of new Android versions by Project Treble, but despite the program's introduction in early 2017 only 21.5 percent of Android devices were running Android Oreo or later as of late October this year. Galaxy S8 owners had to wait 7 months after Oreo's original launch before it was available for their devices, When Android Nougat took at least five months to arrive on the Galaxy S7. At its annual developer's conference, Samsung had said that it expected to launch Pie in January 2019, that is the time we ought expect the full global rollout of the new software.

Install One UI closed Android Pie beta on the Snapdragon Galaxy S8+

As it stated in How to install the One UI closed Android Pie beta on the Snapdragon Samsung Galaxy S8+Just yesterday, we posted a tutorial on how to install an early One UI closed beta build for the Snapdragon Samsung Galaxy Note 8. In that article, we said that there was currently no method to update to One UI on either the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Samsung Galaxy S8+. Thanks to the help from XDA Member nochlab1, we were able to find out how to install the first One UI closed Android Pie beta update on the Snapdragon Samsung Galaxy S8+. If you have an SD Card in your Galaxy S8+, copy the update.zip to the SD Card. Put your Samsung Galaxy S8+ into Odin mode by turning it off then holding Power + Volume Down + the Bixby button.
