As it stated in How much higher are the odds that your device going to be exposed to malware if you download apps from outside Google Play or if you use one of Android's older versions? "Android devices that only download apps from Google Play are 9 times less likely to get a PHA than devices that download apps from other sources," reads Google's own summation. The report covers "how of10 a routine, full-device scan by Google Play Protect detects a device by PHAs installed". Built into eextremely Android device, Google Play Protect "scans over 50 billion apps daily from inside and outside of Google Play", says the tech behemoth. Another key finding to emanate from the report is that, for all intents and purposes, the newer your Android version is the likelier you are to avoid being compromised by malware.
A look at the Android Market (aka Google Play) on its 10th Anniversary
A look at the Android Market (aka Google Play) on its 10th AnniversaryGoogle Play has generated more than twice the downloads of the iOS App Store, reaching a 70 percent share of worldwide downloads in 2017, according to a new report from App Annie, launched in conjunction by the 10th anniversary of the Android Market, now called Google Play. App Annie alextremely found that the APAC (Asia-Pacific) region accounts for more than half of Google Play consumer spending. In addition, App Annie examined the app usage patterns of Android users, and found they tend to have a lot of apps installed. App Annie alextremely noted Google Play has seen the launch of nearly 10 million apps ever its launch in 2008. Google mandates two years of security updates for popular phones in new Android contract
As it stated in Google's contract by Android partners stipulates that they must provide "at least four safety updates" within one year of the phone's launch. safety updates are mandated within the 2nd year as well, though without a specified minimum number of releases. David Kleidermacher, Google's head of Android security, referred to these terms earlier this year during a talk at Google I/O. Kleidermacher said that Google had added a provision into its agreements by partners to roll out "regular" safety updates. As Android splits following the EU ruling, the contract alextremely lifts questions about how non-Google phones going to receive security updates without the same contractual pressures.Manual Google Drive device backup support rolling out to Android now
Android has had device backup and healing backing for many years, including automatic upload and download from Google Drive. One thing that was sorely missing, however, was the ability to initiate manual Android backups to Google Drive. Previously, to trigger a device backup to Google Drive, the device had to be charging and connected to WiFi. Back in August, we announced that Google promised manual Android backups would arrive in a future version of Android. As we noted in August, it was possible to manually trigger Google Drive backups from a command prompt using Android's ADB tool.
