Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi said that it's entering into a tech partnership by Google to embed Android-based next-generation infotainment systems into millions of cars starting in 2021. Combining cars and phonesThe deal means drivers going to be able to access Google apps like its maps navigation software or its voice-operated assistant without needing their phones. The Google Assistant now available on Android Auto and Android TV
Google have begun rolling out the Google Assistant to Android Auto and Android television owners. Mike Hayes, Director for Android Play Partnerships APAC, says that "we're excited to announce that the Assistant can do even more to help Aussies at home and on the road by the launch of the Assistant for Android Auto and Android television – by rollout beginning in Australia this week." Google say that Android Auto is currently available in over 500 models of car globally from 50+ brands, including Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen and Volvo. Meanwhile, the Google Assistant is now available on the NVIDIA SHIELD television from today. Google say Assistant backing going to be coming to Sony Bravia, TCL and Kogan TVs in the coming months.
