Fix for glitchy Google Maps visuals in Android Auto rolling out now

as mentioned in Back in April, users announced to Google that their Android Auto head units were showing weird, glitchy visuals under some circumstances. Google has acknowledged this, though, and says a fix is rolling out now. The original complaint described an image that "pixelated;" the issue makes Google Maps look compressed, by blocky artifacting across the screen. Users described experiencing this by a variety of different cars and devices, but always in the Google Maps app. The glitch was apparently tricky to address, as it was an issue by chipdetermine firmware rather than Android Auto.

The first is forcing companies that need to use Android and pre-install the Google Play Store to include its Chrome browser and Google Search apps, and not install alternatives. The 2nd is illegally paying device makers to exclusively pre-install Google Search. Finally, preventing companies from using other, competing forked versions of Android if they are alextremely selling Google's Android on other devices. To install Android by Google Play and other Google apps, there are rules to be followed, and acceptance by Google. Pichai said Google going to appeal the EC decision, that may change everything again, depending on the outcome.
