Google admits to tracking location information of Android smartphone users even with location services turned off

as declared in San Francisco:Android smartphones have reportedly been gathering users' location information and sending it to Google even when the location services were turned off and there was no SIM card in the device. The tech giant has reportedly approved the practice of gathering location data. Android phones have been collecting the addresses of nearby mobile towers — even when location services are disabled — and sending that information back to Google. This makes search engine giant and the unit of Alphabet behind Android to have access to massive amount of information that invades their privacy. Meanwhile, Google's privacy policy does involve the next section on "location information" (below) that states that users of "Google services" may have their location information collected, involving mobile tower data.
