Google & Xiaomi got together in India last night to detect a new Android one phone, the Xiaomi Mi A1. Some had wondered if Google's turnkey ph1 programme was dead, however with the Mi A1, Android one is apparently "evolving," with a launch planned in over fourty markets. While the Android One programme originally started with $100 devices, Xiaomi's Mi Aone is up to 14,999 INR, or $234. Android One is supposed to be totally stock Android, however ever Google's camera application does not support a dual-cam setup, the Mi Aone ships with Xiaomi's camera app. The device is relleasing with an old version of Android, Android 7.1, & Google's definition of "timely upgrades" is "an upgrade to Android Oreo before the finish of the year."

Google reportedly looking at buying HTC's ph1 unit, expands Android one program

referring to This is especially interesting given which Google previously owned & then purveyed the Motorola handdetermine business. Motorola too underperformed, & Businessmen didn't like which Google owned a hardware business which competed with its Android partners. That's causes of its curious which Google is reportedly flirting with the idea of buying HTC's ph1 business. Buying the ph1 division would signal Google's lack of confidence in HTC ph1 management & a statement which an investment probably wasted.
