Android is currently the most popular mobile operating system in the world by a massive margin.At Gartner's last count, Google's Android OS held 78.8% of the global market compared to 17.9% for Apple's iOS platform.Meanwhile Net Marketshare measures usage to determine market share and it puts those figures a touch closer at 66.01% for Android and 27.84% for iOS as of July.

The source code of Google's latest operating system has emerged, and it looks like all new code from the ground up.The Fuchsia project can be found here, and uses an entirely new kernel, "Magenta."It boots on ARM and x86, and the authors say they've managed to boot it on a Raspberry Pi.
