Jide Technology informs Softpedia about the availability of an updated version of their Remix OS distribution for personal computers based on the open-source Android-x86 project.The biggest new feature of the Remix OS update is that the entire operating system has been rebased on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow technologies, marking the next step in the evolution of Remix OS for PCs and implementing most of the features requested by users for so long.With this major change in its infrastructure, Remix OS is now installable on almost all Intel-based desktop and laptops, as well as on Macs.
Android Marshmallow adoption passes 15% after 10 months
Android Nougat may be just around the corner, but everyone is still watching Android Marshmallow slowly grow.After taking four months to hit 1 percent adoption, and eight months to pass 10 percent, the latest version of Android took another two months to hit 15 percent adoption, according to Google's Platform Versions page.Android Marshmallow gained 1.9 percentage points to hit 15.2 percent, though it's still in fourth place.

Google has posted the latest Android version distribution numbers, showing yet another small bump up for Marshmallow.Specifically, Google calculates that 15.2% of active Android devices were running Marshmallow during a 7-day period ending on August 2.That compares to 13.3% of active Android devices from the previous month.
