Carrier reveals Android 7.0 Nougat OS rollout dates

Canadian telecom Telus posted on their website that the Nexus 6P and the Nexus 5X are receiving the Android 7.0 update on Monday, August 22.Following the tradition, the update will first arrive for Nexus devices.The Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and probably the Pixel C tablet will receive the update next week.The Nexus 5 and all the older Nexus devices have been unfortunately opted out from the update.The exact date for the update will vary according to the carrier your Nexus device is on.

Despite putting fans through an agonising naming and waiting period for the next instalment of its operating system, Android could be dropping Nougat onto smartphones a lot sooner than you might have guessed.Thanks to Canadian carrier Telus posting the details on its website, it appears as though the company plans to begin the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat on August 22 - that's this Monday.Like in previous years, Nougat will hit Nexus devices first, with smartphones and tablets from other manufacturers following at a later date.
